Token Counter

Privacy Policy

Last Updated:

This policy is published at https://tokencounter.online/privacy and is the canonical version.

Overview

Token Counter displays your usage limits and conversation token estimates on claude.ai and chatgpt.com. It runs entirely on your device. It has no backend, no analytics, and no external servers of any kind.

Because nothing it reads or produces is ever transmitted off your device, the extension does not “collect” data as the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy defines that term.

Data Collection and Storage

We do not collect any data. Nothing is transmitted to us or to any third party. Everything the extension stores is a cache and never leaves your device. All of it is removed when you remove the extension from Chrome.

Network Access

The extension communicates only with claude.ai and chatgpt.com — the sites you are already signed into. It makes no other network requests.

The one exception: on first install, the extension opens a single tab to tokencounter.online/welcome — an ordinary page open, like clicking a link. The URL carries no data about you.

The extension relies on your existing login session on each site. It never accesses or transmits your password, and never sends any credential to us or to any third party.

Permissions

The extension uses three Chrome permissions:

Data Sharing

No data is collected, transmitted, sold, or shared. There is no analytics, tracking, or advertising.

This extension’s handling of user data adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published at https://tokencounter.online/privacy with an updated “Last Updated” date. Any change to what the extension reads or stores will be reflected here no later than the release of the version that makes it.
